It
was a warm night in Las Vegas, and Milan headed to her suite at the
Cosmopolitan Hotel on the strip at four-thirty in the morning,
exhausted. She’d closed the club, got in her car and drove, sitting behind the
wheel in deep thought. Normally, before all that had gone on in her life,
Lavender would’ve called to check on her. He didn’t.
